Charles Bridge Gate - Prague | photogravure print - The Weekly Edition
|
A year has passed since my travels to Prague. I have been going back through the negatives I made, and like happens so often, I feel differently about some of them than I did shortly after making the picture. For me, I need a bit of time between making a negative and knowing their importance. Right away, I find pictures that shout out, but some other worthy sorts find their way into my heart only after some time has passed. This view of the tower at the Charles Bridge
feels to me like I felt when I looked up to see the many angles and details. Hand-pulled photogravure print is made with Cranfield Bone Black, Rubine Red, and Mid Black inks on Copperplate paper. I printed an edition of 6 numbered prints.
Hand-pulled print by Ray Bidegain - Limited edition of 6
- 7"x 7" inches on an 11"x15.5" sheet.
- Signed, numbered, and dated by the artist on the lower
front.

Without Limits | The Collection
|
This collection acknowledges many of my feelings as a photographer & printmaker.
Lately I have been spending time thinking about my art making practice, the role it plays in our culture & the journey I am on. It started most recently while I was traveling in Prague this fall. We were in a very small gallery and noticed a bin full of dry point etchings. These were small prints and very beautiful, lots to choose from. We found several that we liked and picked 2 to bring home. The thing is, they were not very much money, and at the same time it did not matter. What was important is that the artist is a man from Prague who is 75 years old and loves to make etchings. Lots of etchings
